Crochet Boujee Basket Pattern Tutorial

If you’ve ever found yourself staring at clutter in your living room, throws tumbling off the couch, or kids’ toys hiding in every corner, you’ll understand why I designed the Boujee Basket.

I wanted something big, bold, and beautifully practical. Not just a basket to stuff things into, but a statement piece of home decor that would make my space feel cozy, intentional, and stylish. And because it’s handmade, every stitch adds a little bit of warmth to the room.

The Boujee Basket is exactly that: a giant crochet basket made with plush, velvety yarn that’s as soft as it is sturdy. It’s perfect for stashing blankets, organizing kids’ toys, or even holding your yarn while you work on your next project. With its chunky stitches, oversized handles, and chic color-blocking, this basket is one you’ll be proud to display in your home.

And yes—it’s beginner-friendly.

Why you'll love this pattern

  • Stylish Home Organizer – Elevates your space while keeping it tidy.
  • Quick to Make – Thanks to jumbo Bernat Plush Big yarn and a 16 mm hook.
  • Durable & Practical – Perfect for blankets, toys, or seasonal home decor.
  • Handmade Luxury – A piece that looks like it came from a boutique home store.
  • Beginner-Friendly – Simple stitches and a repetitive rhythm make it easy to follow.

Handmade for Your Home

This basket wasn’t just designed for organizing—it was designed to decorate.
Place it by the couch filled with cozy throws for fall. Keep it in the kids’ room as a toy organizer. Or style it in your entryway with rolled towels for guests. The neutral off-white base with a gold stripe adds a touch of elegance, while the twisted two-tone handles give it that extra boujee vibe (hence the name 😉).
The best part? You can customize it to match your home’s palette. Swap gold for gray, blush, or even a bold navy—the design is versatile and timeless.

Tips for Success

  • Use a stitch marker to keep track of your rounds—this basket works up fast and it’s easy to lose your place.
  • Don’t skip the back loop only round (Round 9)—this trick gives the basket its sharp base and sturdy structure.
  • Make your handles strong by twisting two strands together for that candy-cane effect—it not only looks stylish but also adds strength

How to Use Your Boujee Basket

  • Kids’ Room Storage – Stylish toy bin that blends with your decor.
