How to crochet star stitch?

  1. Insert your hook into the next st after the first hdc, Yoh and pull a loop through. This is the beg of sc5tog. Leave the loop on the hook and insert your hook into the next chain, Yoh, and pull a loop through. Rep this for another 3 times. Now you have 6 loops on the hook.
  2. Yoh one more time and pull through all six loops. These loops create the first star base.

  4. To finish the first star, chain one. The finished star will also create the center of the star which is often known as the “eye” of the star.
  5. Beg the second star stitch. Insert your hook into the “eye” that was just created in the last step. Yoh and pull through. There are two chains on your hook. (Refer to image to the left below) Insert your hook into the space between the last 2 star strands or petals of the first star stitch, yoh, and pull through. (Refer to image to the right below)
     
             
  6. Insert your hook into the same chain where the last star stitch finished, yoh and pull through. (Refer to image to the left below) Insert you hook into the next chain, yoh and pull through. Rep one more time. There are 6 loops on your hook. (Refer to image to the right below)

     

     

    To Complete the second star just rep the step you did for the first star which is yoh, pull through all 6 loops, and make one ch. (Refer to image below)
